qMail: Message not accepted for policy reasons.
« on: 2015-02-06, 03:57:00 »
Hi!
CentOS 6.6 with Kloxo-MR 6.5.0.f-2015010801 on it. Installed wordpress website on it and tried to use contact form: Contact form is setup to store the message and forward it to my Yahoo email. When I tested it, I got the MAILER DAEMON message in my Yahoo account saying:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at **********.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<***********@yahoo.com>:
User and password not set, continuing without authentication.
<***********@yahoo.com> xx.yyy.xxx.zz failed after I sent the message.
Remote host said: 554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy reasons.
I understand what the problem is. I also found this topic http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-setup-qmail-on-kloxo-mr/ explaining how to setup qmail but I don't think I understand it.

1. Choose 1 of domains or subdomains as primary 'domain' - How can I choose one domain when I'm hosting several websites on this server? Will this domain be visible anywhere?
2. Set server hostname as subdomain of primary 'domain'. What is the recommended subdomain and where exactly do I set the hostname? In the SendMail From, or should I rename the server from localhost to subdomain.domain.com?

Choose 1 domain for base of hostname. If your domain is xyzdomain.com, you can set hostname as server1.xyzdomain.com (you change 'server1' to other that what's you like).

Ok, I've set the default domain for my clients account but where do I set the hostname? In server aliases or Advanced PHP Config Sendmail From box or somewhere else?

Go to 'admin > servers > (localhost) > information'.

Ok, this is what I did.
1. There are 2 domains hosted on my server so I chose one of them.
2. I went to home>servers>serverhome(localhost) and set the Verbose Description to My Name, host.xxxxxxxxx.com (xxxx is my domain, 'host' is a chosen subdomain) as FQDN Hostname and saved.
3. I opened etc/hosts and added  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx host.xxxxxxxx.com host
4. Opened /etc/sysconfig/network and there already was the line
     HOSTNAME = CentOS 6.6 Minimal
I edited this to
     HOSTNAME = host.xxxxxxxxxx.com
5. Saved everything, rebooted the server, went to ssh and runned 'hostname -f' and host.xxxxxxxx.com appeared, as it was described in the tutorial.
6. I runned sh /script/convert-to-qmailtoaster and I got the message: "Mail server already use qmail-toaster"
7. Runned sh /script/fix-chownchmod and waited for it to finish.

Tried to use the contact form and got the same MAILED DEAMON notice in my yahoo account..

What did I do wrong? Is there anything else I could do?

It was not enabled but after I saw your post I enabled it. Tried it and I got the MAILER DEAMON message again. Do I need to restart the server after enabling SPF? I didn't restart the server after enabling SPF..

Better update with 'yum clean all; yum update -y' and then reboot.

Maybe because not implementing DMARC. At this moment, only DKIM and SPF implemented.

Try using zoho.com as mail server because free domain-based mail server. Sadly, googleapps or live.net stopped their service for free domain-based mail server.

FYI, mratwork.com using domains.live.net as their domain mail.

Sorry for bothering you again.. I noticed that when I restart all scripts i get all the messages e.g. stopping httpd [OK], starting httpd [OK] and so on...but I get no response for qmail-send or qmail-toaster. They just appear but I don't get the [OK] or [failed] for those servces. Is that a normal behavior? I could copy/paste it here if you like?)..
