Selfsigned Certificate Issue
« on: 2013-07-04, 19:42:29 »
I set * as 'Commonname (domain Name)' for my Certificate and get below error on '/var/log/httpd/error_log'
Code: [Select]
[Tue Jul 02 05:23:02 2013] [warn] RSA server certificate is a CA certificate (BasicConstraints: CA == TRUE !?)

It's not work. Try '*.domain.com' (change domain.com with your real main domain).

I find one instruction for Creating a Self-Signed SSL Certificate for Multiple Domains :
http://quanterium.blogspot.no/2012/01/c ... icate.html

How can I use it on kloxo?

Kloxo/Kloxo-MR only possible 1 cert per 1 ip. I think other panels also the same approach.

Remember, '[Tue Jul 02 05:23:02 2013] [warn] RSA server certificate is a CA certificate (BasicConstraints: CA == TRUE !?)' just warning (not error). You can abandon (don't care) for this warning.

Hi Mustafa, there are some other control panels supporting multiple SSL certificates per IP.  Is there any planned support whatsoever for Kloxo-MR?  I view this as an important issue since a lot of colo / ISP providers will not give us enough IPv4 addresses for each web site as they are in short supply.

Here is an example of how it is implemented in CPanel:  https://blog.cpanel.net/ssl-improvements-for-cpanel-whm/

It discusses SNI and UCC/SAN methods.  Personally I am only interested in making this work with Nginx.

An example cert provider that offers multiple SSL certificates per IP is AlphaSSL (GlobalSign).

Thanks

I have no plan for it because it's no big issue.
