Problems cant login through sftp

Hi I keep getting this error "Cannot initialize SFTP protocol. Is the host running a SFTP server?" was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this? I am able to login to regular ftp but it wont let me move, rename, delete or do anthing with the files. thank you in advance.

Please I need help. SFTP is the only way I can access my root files and i need to. any help would be appreciated

nvm, all i had to do was go to shell access in the control panel and click bin/bash
