How to set name server and DNS configuration?

I have read this (http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-set-dns/) but this is for two server.

I have one server, and here will be domain name, sub domain name, mail, ftp and database. The details setting given below -

Hostname in server provider - server2hosting.tk
IP address from server provider - got only 1 IP
RDNS - set to their server default (195-154-97-aaa.rev.poneytelecom.eu.)
DNS Template name in Kloxo-MR - server2hosting.tk.dnst

In DNS template added same IP address to Web IPaddress & Mail IPaddress.

Primary DNS server written - ns1.server2hosting.tk
Secondary DNS Server writen - ns2.server2hosting.tk

Below is the DNS Records Under server2hosting.tk.dnst -

base - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
cp - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
ftp - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
mail - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
ns1 - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
ns2 - A   -   195.154.97.aaa
lists - CN   -   mail
webmail - CN   -   mail
www - CN   -   __base__
imap    - FCNAME   -   mail.server2hosting.tk.dnst
pop   -  FCNAME   -   mail.server2hosting.tk.dnst
smtp - FCNAME   -   mail.server2hosting.tk.dnst
__base__    - MX   10   mail.server2hosting.tk.dnst
__base__    - NS   -   ns1.server2hosting.tk
__base__    - NS   -   ns2.server2hosting.tk


And then I created an account and in that account created domain name - http://bedbreakfast.tk.

In http://bedbreakfast.tk domain name provider panel, I have added name server - NS1.SERVER2HOSTING.TK, NS2.SERVER2HOSTING.TK.

But http://bedbreakfast.tk is not working and showing error - "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN".

Can anyone please help me to solve this problem? I am beginner and eager to learn.

Let say your dns name is 'default'. So, every content with 'default.dnst' will be convert to your domain where using this template for create domain (if your domain is 'domain.tk' and then 'default.dnst' will be convert to 'domain.tk').

As http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-set-dns/ description, every domain need adjustment their ns in domain panel (provide by domain provider).

here is my setup, and its working fine for me:

in my default dns.dnst

__base__    NS    -    ns1.sunderfall.com
__base__    NS    -    ns2.sunderfall.com
ns1    A    -    24.207.xxx.xxx
ns2    A    -    24.207.xxx.xxx


also need create those domains (ns1 & ns2) in kloxo and "blackhole" them to some directory.
(see my ns1.sunderfall.com in a browser,,,  NS1 only give your ip and cant do other thing)


also trying to ping your NS, it is not resolvable.
so either your DNS is wrong, or you havnt created the domains.

It's because you are using cloudfare where cloudflate take over your original ns.

only some of my domains using cloudflare.
other domains using my nameservers.

I mean your domain (sunderfall.com) using cloudflare where you want ns1.sunderfall.com and ns2.sunderfall.com as ns for other domains. If you do like it you may trouble for other domains.

Hi MRatWork,

What I understand  - I have created the dns name server2hosting.tk, so now every content should convert to my domain where I use this template for newly created domain name (so if domain name is bedbreakfast.tk, then server2hosting.tk.dnsk should convert to bedbreakfast.tk).

Yes, in domain panel in dot.tk (from where got domain name), I have adjusted the name server, by writing ns1.server2hosting.tk, ns2.server2hosting.tk.

But still it is not working?

I think there are by two ways it is possible to adjust name server in domain panel -
1) just write the ns1.server2hosting.tk OR
2) Have to change the DNS zone file

So, which way you recommend to write name server?

And you have written "default" - is it possible to give any other name than "default"? I have given server2hosting.tk. Is this wrong?

Here (in http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-set-dns/) - in Step 2 - 2.1 - it is written that we have to use domain registrar IP address in A record - ns2 - A - 123.333.333.333. So, is this the mistake, this domain is not working?

If you want all using the same ns, set 'ns1.server2hosting.tk' instead 'ns1.server2hosting.tk.dnst' (in this context, 'server2hosting.tk' as dns template name).

I have use DNS Template Name - server2hosting.tk, but control panel add "dnst" automatically as suffix after server2hosting.tk. And it becomes server2hosting.tk.dnst.

Also I have change -
ns2 - A - 104.155.1.12 (this is my domain provider IP address)

Still not working.

Change ns1 and ns2 value in 'dns template' like you want.

Use 'dns template' name without the same as domain name. Example, use 'default' instead 'domain.com' as 'dns template' name.

Ok. I have done same as the steps 1.1 and 2.1 in (http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-set-dns/). I think I do not need steps after 2.1 because I have only one server.

Then I have added ultraso.com domain name in same admin panel in Kloxo-MR. And not under any customer.

But ultraso.com is not opening. Can you please help me to find whats wrong?

I don't know about Godaddy, but in my registrar just enough set 'child name server' (equal to 'A record') for ns1 and ns2 and 'name server' (equal to 'NS record') for ns1 and ns2. It's as the same as dns 'delegate' from registrar to my server. And then in my server (using Kloxo-MR) set dns setting like you do.

To make sure in your Kloxo-MR panel, go to 'admin > services' to know dns is running (green) or not (red). Or, from ssh, try 'sh /script/restart-dns -y' to know restart process running or not.

I have gone to menu Server > Services.

But ultraso.com website is not opening.

Also I have run this commmand 'less /etc/resolv.conf'. And seen -
Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 62.210.16.6


I just want to upload website files in Kloxo-MR panel and when some one open the domain name ultraso.com (in godaddy), the person will see the website.

So, is there any alternative way to solve this problem?

There are look like iptables make blocked certain port. Try 'chkconfig --del iptables; service iptables stop'.
