Help with Kloxo Backup Error

Hello kloxo-MR Community,

Can anyone help with pointers??? I wanted to back up kloxo, and restore on a Kloxo-MR installation. I applied the backup patch advised for kloxo-mr; Backup has failed several times now because of the error:

"Backup Failed for admin with the Message e_no_dbadmin_entries_admin":: Localhost.
Can anyone gives me a solution?? Kloxo forum is down; hoping someone here can help.

I checked, I cannot see dbadmin as a user; and when I try to create it, it throws the error that dbadmin user already exist in localhost? In Kloxo database as 'dbadmin' as a table... is this the source of conflict?

How do you suggest I resolve this conflict? Please advise.

Hi,

Mustafa can tell you whatever he wants, and he will do because he is very proud of his work.

He has certainly neglected the area of back and restore. There are heaps of problems.

You would be wasting a lot of your time in all such nonsense of making backups and restore.

SAVE YOUR TIME and do not listen to Mustafa. Built your server on Kloxo_MR from scratch. Thats much faster.

Just simply install Kloxo-MR fresh. Configure all domains and email addresses.

Then make tar of /var/mysql/DB, /lxadmin/domains/emailboxes as well as /home/userhtml directories.

Untar these in to a temp dir of ner server where Kloxo-MR fresh resides. Copy these backups to manually overwrite the created dirs from Kloxo-MR.

Then execute some scripts to bring all tuneup with Kloxo-MR, like cleanup, etc.

Everything else is just waste of time. If you need step by step instructions for that let me know.

Yes, root is there; dbadmin user is NOT there, and attempt to create it throws the error; "Alert: mysql___localhost already exists in dbadmin. [dbadmin]". dbadmin on exist as a table in 'kloxo' database, and no where else in localhost.

Any other idea what to do?

This is a Kloxo installation and NOT kloxo-MR installation. My intention is to backup Original Kloxo, and then restore on a fresh Kloxo-MR installation.... not sure if the suggestion suffices...

Restore from Kloxo Official to Kloxo-MR 6.5.0 may trouble if you have mysql with databasename more than 16 char and also client name more than 12 chars (also if have character other then alphanumeric and underline). In 6.5.1, client name able until 63 chars but database name still not able to more then 16 chars (because mysql 5.1+ only permit 16 chars).

In that case, the only option you have is to give a deaf year to Mustafa on all he says. He has totally neglected all problems related to backups and restore in comparision to all other fantastic work he did, and does further.

The only, and the best, option is to install kloxomr on a new server, create all domains on the new server, make all email boxes - and only then - bring all directory, by tar and untar method, to appropriate locations on the new server.

For this you should get mysql, email and html dirs from the old to new. To be able to bring them in their appropriate locations from old to new, you must recontruct kloxo-mr the same as kloxo locations.

Other than this, you may have small chance to make backup from old kloxo and restore it on new kloxomr.

If this does not work within ten minutes, you may choose to listen to Mustafa and waste your time for days, or listen to my advice to reconstruct kloxomr on the new server in an hour.
