Wildcard SSL shows an error when entering stats on subdomain

It works well for domain like stats.domain.com then connection is encrypted.

When I try subdomain like stats.subdomain.domain.com then connection shows an error with wrong SSL certificate despite I use wildcard SSL cert.

As I know, wildcards ssl cert only for domain and their subdomain (not include subsubdomain).
