Anything besides only apache config pass easily Loadimpact
Blitz.io its no more free but i have 10 credits if you want to try 250 users or more apache varnish vs nginx ( now i take over a site a rush on nginx only)

Varnish forward only 80 port not 443 . So 443 should be taken directly by apache.

Try to change only 80 port to 8080 and let 443 stay

Do a Siege run on both to see performance diference between ( used on few sites and never go up over 90 mb with a run of loadimpact.com)
Look at free ram ( free -m)

Without a domain apache and php-pfm will not start or will go down
