Like pure-ftp said run 'pure-pw mkdb'. Also better also run 'sh /script/fixftp-all; sh /script/restart-ftp -y'.

I don't know if these issues are related. When I am in "admin — {Servers}" I noticed one listed "localhost" but it showed as "Not Used".
When I select the "localhost" take me to "admin — Servers — {Server}". I noticed the following.
Quote
?    Buffers    6 MB    1996 MB
?    Cached    233 MB    1996 MB
?    Real Mem    251 MB    1996 MB
Those showed as "Exceeded".

Also just to be sure I am on the right path. After the fresh installed I have not added any domain or client. I wanted to restore the backup file first. Do I have to add a user/client or domain first?

Try rename 'pureftpd.passwd.oldsaved' to 'pureftpd.passwd' and run again fixftp-all and restart-ftp

I renamed 'pureftpd.passwd.oldsaved' to 'pureftpd.passwd' but when I run "sh /script/fixftp-all; sh /script/restart-ftp -y"
Quote
[root@server ~]# sh /script/fixftp-all; sh /script/restart-ftp -y
Initialize PureFtp service
- Initialize process
Make pure-ftpd user database
- Restart xinetd service for pureftp

- For help, type '/script/fixftpuser [--help|-h]'
- No argument supplied. Defaulting to localhost (master) servers

Fixing FTP User
- 'newuser20' ('admin') at 'localhost'
Unable to open the passwd file: No such file or directory

*** Process Time: 00:00:00:00.458 (dd:hh:mm:ss:xxxxxx) ***

Stopping xinetd:                                           [  OK  ]
Starting xinetd:                                           [  OK  ]
Then I go back and check the file and noticed after "sh /script/fixftp-all; sh /script/restart-ftp -y" renamed back to "pureftpd.passwd.oldsaved".

When you run 'pure-pw mkdb', this process try create pureftpd.pdb from pureftpd.passwd but missing pureftpd.passwd. So, why advice to rename pureftpd.passwd.oldsaved to pureftpd.passwd.

Fixftp-all try with another way.

Or try 'yum reinstall pure-ftpd -y; sh /script/cleanup'.

No, I didn't add anything domain/user/client etc.

I've just done a brand new install of Centos 6 and Kloxo-MR 7 and got the same issue with FTP.

After added a dummy domain FTP works. But I cannot login with user admin or root. But I can with the users I created. But that only have access to the dummy domain directories. It doesn't have access to /home/admin/.

Where can I upload the backup file to for restore?
