Title: Advice for VPS

Which are better options? Better CPU or more Ram?

First situation:
2 vCores 3.1 GHz with 4 GB RAM or 2 vCores 2.4 GHz with 12 GB RAM

Second situation:
2 vCores 2.4 GHz with 12 GB RAM or 4 vCores 3.1 GHz with 8 GB RAM

In each situations, which is a better choice? Need your advice.

Depend on 'real spec' for VPS. An example. some provider will throtle CPU usage if in certain times (5 minutes) usage until 100%.

My advice usage low-end dedicated server (like https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-xc)

The config I mentioned are from ovh.

So the one from https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-xc is 1 cpu? It could out perform 2 and 4 cpu?

I don't understand I searched out Intel® C2750 (Avoton) and it has 8 # of cores. Does that mean the same thing as when they mentioned 2 or 4 vCores?

So Intel® C2750 (Avoton) have 8 vCores? Is that what it means?

Also https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-xc those server are in France. Will that effort the speed because my targets are in US?

You got me really thinking. So I did some more search on this and what I found was a lot of advice was to stay within your target area. It's good for google ranking. Google actually reward server location.

I have to think more about this. I might move to a US server data center. But they are so much more expensive. I can't find anything like what you share with me, online.net.

Choose Online.net or Hetzner.de for low-end Dedicated Server.

DC in US mostly with 100Mbps bandwith and tend to higher price compare to DC in France and German.
