Hi there,
I've upgraded from official kloxo... and seams I've messed up stuff...
Really need your help.
Didn't done the qmail to toaster script.
Httpd (after I shutdown the default one and start httpd) doesn't catch my domains
(it takes ages to load. but it was already a problem it got I don't really know how some months ago... that's why I figured out I should move on to other kloxo :) )
So... right now:
httpd starts but no domain is working.
named: fails (and just hangs there... I need to ^C to terminate it)
mail... can't really access it (but I guess I can tackle down the line, first things first)
my idealized fix: just suck every file from this server, setup everything in localhost (perhaps with CentOS6 instead of 5.10) and make all the configs manually from fresh...
then, just reinstall my vps and pass everything back there (it's 4 domains... nothing tricky... but...)
Can anyone help me out here? (doing a huge sh /script/centos5-upgrade right now)
Thanks in advance!

Please inform here 'sh /script/sysinfo; hostname -f; hostname -s'.
Kloxo-MR and Kloxo official have different approach from handling config.
1. For qmail issue, try 'sh /script/convert-to-qmailtoaster'
2. For Config issue, go to 'switch program' to change your web/dns/spam and to 'webserver config' to change your php-branch and php-type (better choose php53u and php-fpm_event).
-
The info you requested:
-bash-3.2# sh /script/sysinfo; hostname -f; hostname -s
cat: /script/programname: No such file or directory
/script/directory: line 1: cd: /usr/local/lxlabs//httpdocs: No such file or directory
Could not open input file: ../bin/fix/sysinfo.php
DOMAIN.COM
DOMAIN
-bash-3.2#
I'm going to do the commands you suggested.
-
Did you run 'sh /script/upcp -y' after 'yum install kloxomr'?.
-
I'm not sure but I think yes.
(Minus the -y but, guess it doesn't matter...)
is it possible to revert?
-
Try with 'sh /script/upcp -y'.
-
What's version Kloxo-MR official before update to Kloxo-MR?.
Convert to Kloxo-MR based on Kloxo 6.1.12 and I am not testing for Kloxo 6.1.13-6.1.19.
-
Hoo... Well, I kinda lost that info now, but I guess I was up to date with the latest one.
My server was already slow with the official kloxo.
-
Either way, if you help me great, if it's not possible, then I'll look at other options (backup everything and rebuilt on a local server fresh install).
It's still working the upcp -y command (slowly...)
-
Slow or fast depend on your connection to rpm repo. Run 'sh /script/upcp -y' as the same as install (but without delete your data; action like fresh install).
-
Ok. command has run.
Need running 'sh /script/cleanup' for update
Run 'sh /script/restart-all' to make sure all services running well
Should I run any of these?
(kloxo is working, named is stopped...)
Only Error:

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

Later I'll see if it's serious (need to have named working).
-
Yes, try 'sh /script/cleanup'.

So... Hiawatha failing is ok, because httpd is started.
named failed is not good...
Should I try to change dns program?
-
Try change bind to djdbns (my fav is nsd). Beside dns, you need change/adjustment web and spam in 'switch programs' (try djbdns, nginx-proxy and bogofilter). Also change/adjustment for php-branch and php-type in 'webserver applications' (try php53u and php-fpm_event)
-
djbdns isn't working...
-bash-3.2# service djbdns status
Djbdns status for:
Unknown HZ value! (30) Assume 100.
- axfrdns -> stopped
Unknown HZ value! (30) Assume 100.
- tinydns -> stopped
However, nsd is, but my domains remain unaccessible
-bash-3.2# service nsd status
nsd (pid 4356) is running...
-bash-3.2#
-
Awesome... dns is fixed.
Turns out, there was a problem with a TXT string:
__base__ TXT - v=spf1 a mx ~all
Some of the domains had it, so I've removed manually one by one and checked all of them, then started bind and it functions now
Now...
all of my domains go to the same "default" page, that's my main website. Shouldn't be this the behaviour... going to dig it a little more...
-
For djbsns, try 'service djbdns setup; service djbdns restart'.
Inform here 'sh /script/sysinfo' again and 'yum list nginx* httpd* hiawatha*'.
-
service djbdns setup outputs:

Look like something wrong with dns setting and or djbdns itself.
-
Yes... and I think that's what's holding down my machine's performance
-
This should be closed.
My VPS was completly lagging, and had no perfomance whatsoever (and was rather old, about 2 years).
I've switched to another much better.
This meant a whole backup of mysqls, data and rebuild of everthing in the new one.
