No quota
« on: 2014-06-13, 10:51:58 »
Hi all,

I am working in a master with slaves. I want to run fixquota script, but there was a problem
Code: [Select]
Notice : The resource you have requested doesn't exist. The server returned the error message: <br>  machine_doesnt_exist_in_db nname hollywood.domain.tld <br>" solved by simply changing the slave server (once again), then tried to rerun.

Thereafter, I am facing the following problem:
Code: [Select]
"quotacheck: Can't find filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted with quota option."
If cat mtab:

Code: [Select]
[root@arquimedes ~]# cat /etc/mtab
/dev/simfs / simfs rw,relatime 0 0
proc /proc proc rw,relatime 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs rw,relatime 0 0
none /dev tmpfs rw,relatime,mode=755 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts rw,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000 0 0
none /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc binfmt_misc rw,relatime 0 0
0

And, if I cat fstab

Code: [Select]
[root@arquimedes ~]# cat /etc/fstab
none    /dev/pts        devpts  rw,gid=5,mode=620       0       0

I begun to have this problem since I done:

Code: [Select]
sh /script/upcp -y
sh /script/cleanup
reboot

When trying to solve major affairs related to databases, slave communication, et al.

Any ideas to solve?

Your /etc/fstab is wrong.

See mine:
Quote
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/md0 none           swap  sw                                                                                                              0       0
/dev/md1 /boot          ext4  defaults                                                                  0       1
/dev/md2        /       ext4    rw,discard,noatime,nodiratime,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,usrquota,grpquota,jqfmt=vfsv0   0       1
/dev/md3 /var/lib/mysql ext4  rw,discard,noatime,nodiratime,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,usrquota,grpquota,jqfmt=vfsv0        0       0
/dev/md4        /home   ext4    rw,noatime,nodiratime,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,usrquota,grpquota,jqfmt=vfsv0   0       0

I found my problem. I'm considering to switch servers since my little business is growing a little.

The problem is caused in the virtualization technology. Seems like KVM doesn't faces this problem.

BTW and offtopic, @Spacedust, have you say that you have any mod to original fixquota code? If yes, had you tested in production, and once again, if yes, did you find any mean to place in its directory without the "yum update" destruction?

fixquota does not require changes. It works fine. However it will take several hours to complete on large filesystems.

The other problem is that Mustafa does not like to use my quota solution to count disk space inside Kloxo :/

Seems like fixtraffic does some sort of the work. Did you gave to it a check to the code?

Yes, about 2 years ago and nothing happens. Mustafa still thinks du -sc is better than realtime quota ;)

Try du -sc on a 3 TB filesystem and you will see ... :/
