No email is going out and nor coming in

i have installed kloxo mr 6.5 and everything is working fine but No email is going out and norcoming in, please help me , when any one register to my website no emails are going to him, But when i send mail it says mail sent but receive cant receive mails.

how to change both hostname  and hostname -s to server.domain.com

Modified '/etc/sysconfig/network' and '/etc/hosts'. And then reboot.

If after reboot hostname back to previous (usually in OpenVZ VPS), you must update hostname in VPS panel.

so what should i do i wright ns1.pattola.com or server1.pattola.com

i have changed from all openvz also but here are the results hostname -s shows only ns1

[root@ns1 ~]# hostname

now i can receive email from others but when i sent them or replay them , it says sent but i am not able to receive on gmail or any other mail.

when i open roundcube for mail after this it says


DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!
Unable to connect to the database!
