Deleted domains still appear to be "live"

Hi,
I deleted two domains on one of my clients accounts that has a permission to create 2 domains and they were removed from the "domain" tab so now the client had 0 domains, but in the clients home there's still a   2 of 2 domains used, and when I try to add a new domain I get the message that I've reached my limit of 2 domains.  After some time (a few hours, I don't know) they disappear and I can add new domains.
Why is this happening? Is there a way to completely remove domains immediately?
