SPF dns record (new standard)
« on: 2013-09-09, 21:33:28 »
Mustafa,

KloxoMR needs newer SPF record added.  The old SPF uses TXT in dns, however, new standard uses SPF DNS record - it has it's own record especially for SPF.

Is supported by bind.

We need both TXT and SPF dns records for SPF.  This is a must.  I have been arguing with aol and hotmail customer service.  They say we need both records.

Please advise.

Can you show 'SPF record' example instead using 'TXT record' for SPF?.

http://www.zytrax.com/books/dns/ch9/spf.html

The above article explains in detail.  It is same as SPF TXT but it is duplicated into its own record.

It has been around for years, but a few major email distributors are now looking for SPF RR and not just SPF TXT.

I believe it should be easy to add? yes?

I do not know if djbdns supports, but bind since v 9. has.
