fix was to edit resolv.conf with google DNS (did this before), but it appeared when I did a restart it reset my resolv.conf to the prior non working dns which messed up the install script

Modified nameserver from VPS panel or protect to overwrite your resolv.conf with 'chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf'.
