Title: Can't receive emails - user_is_over_quota problem
Post by: idove on 2017-04-05, 16:25:14
Can't receive emails on one domain on kloxo mr 6.5.0.
I can send emails, but can't receive it.

I get this in maillog for test@example.com
Code: [Select]
Apr  5 16:23:50 server send: starting delivery 8: msg 16394741 to local example.com-test@example.com
Apr  5 16:23:50 server send: status: local 1/10 remote 0/60
Apr  5 16:23:50 server send: delivery 8: failure: user_is_over_quota/
Apr  5 16:23:50 server send: status: local 0/10 remote 0/60

What is user_is_over_quota does it have? Where to change?

In Kloxo panel, I can't see anything above normal. I try to restart qmail, change limits, add more in limits, for all mails, for total mail quota, added bandwidth, nothing.

Other domains on this server and emails works normally.
Tnx.

I finally changed Total Disk Usage (MB) from 4000 MB to 8000 MB and now it is fine. Why? For me it seems that 4GB was more than enough.

In kloxo now is:
TotDisk   2.65 GB   7.81 GB
MailDisk   80.4 MB   1000 MB
Mailaccount   8   25
Cdisk   2.65 GB
Mysqldisk   0.4 MB

I checked manually:
/home/example/ 906.8 MB
/home/lxadmin/mail/domains/aberro 80,1MB
/var/lib/mysql/example 388kB

Is there something that I'm missing? Tnx.

Quota also include stats files.

Where are located?
/home/example/_processed_stats? This folder is empty.

Also one backup was in
/home/kloxo/client/example/__backup with 800MB file.

This is total of 1,8 GB, and limit was 4GB.

Am I missing some folder/files?
Tnx.

Also backup files inside '/home/kloxo/client/<clientname>/__backup'

Yes,
I found all this and in total was ~2,7GB. Total approved disk space was 4GB.
So receiving email's didn't work. Only when I change to 8GB.

Is it bug, or did I miss anything?
Tnx.

Dear MRatWork,
I noticed the same problem occur again. In one of the post I mentioned that there is also problem with logging to /var/log/maillog but that's other issue, I don't thhink is related. From some reason maillog stops, but after service rsyslog restart, log is fine for few days. So I need to restart rsyslog every few days, when I want to check maillog.

Anyway, today I have problem again with the same domain, menitioned above in previous posts, sender of email receive this message:

Code: [Select]
From: MAILER-DAEMON@myserverdomain.com
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at myserverdomain.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<info@userdomain.com>:
user is over quota

--- Below this line is a copy of the message.

I get the same reply on all 5 email addresses on userdomain.com. I check via kloxo, they have plenty of space, all email addresses use only few MB, but have set for 100MB. And still sender receive user is over quota.

In maillog:
Code: [Select]
May  3 09:57:05 server send: new msg 16384015
May  3 09:57:05 server send: info msg 16384015: bytes 7268455 from <xxx@somedomain.com> qp 1947 uid 7791
May  3 09:57:05 server send: starting delivery 3: msg 16384015 to local userdomain.com-info@userdomain.com
May  3 09:57:05 server send: status: local 1/10 remote 0/60
May  3 09:57:05 server send: delivery 3: failure: user_is_over_quota/
May  3 09:57:05 server send: status: local 0/10 remote 0/60
May  3 09:57:06 server send: bounce msg 16384015 qp 1957
May  3 09:57:06 server send: end msg 16384015

But this is not true, in my opinion, maybe you can point me to the right direction.

After restarting of qmail, the same problem.
Then I change from 1GB total mail capacity to 2GB, nothing, same problem.
Then I restart kloxo and everything is fine.

I didn't restart kloxo, before changing to 2GB, but I think that there is somewhere maybe bug or? Maybe  qmail get false alarm of user quota from kloxo?
Can you help?
This is the second time I get the same error for the same user.

What kloxo checking for user quota? Maybe I can manually check?
Is there any code I can check?

Thank you.

What's about mail recipient (not sender). Recipient also the same server?

No, I tested sending email from my personal gmail to problematic domain, on kloxo 6.5.0/centos6.
All other domain email works fine in mentioned time, except that problematic domain.

OK,
I understand that.
But if there is problem in 6.5.0, it is possible that the same remains in 7.0.
Can you just gave me the "formula" how and what triggers "user quota"? It seems that there is a bug in 6.5.0 and possibly the same code is used to calculate this on 7.0.

P.S.
I will gladly upgrade 6.5.0 to 7.0, but I'm not sure that this is good idea. Juts few months back I upgraded and moved all from original Kloxo to your latest release Kloxo MR 6.5.0, 7.0 was then still in beta.

Kloxo-MR 7.0 already in candidate release where one step before final. I hope next 1-2 month will be final release.

As I remember, I didn't touch the code related to quota in Kloxo-MR 6.5.

Tnx for reply, great for 7.0 and final version.

But, can you maybe tell how and where is calculated user quota trigger in Kloxo? So I can check, or somehow see where the problem is occuring.

Am I on right track, I mean that kloxo send trigger to qmail that quota is reached, and then qmail stop receiving emails.

Tnx.

Where you set email account quota?.
Title: Re: Can't receive emails - user_is_over_quota problem

In clients (client has only one domain).
Then in limits of this clients

Mail Disk Usage (MB) > 2000MB
And then for each mail, total 5 emails,
each one limit 100MB.

All emails has together ~100MB, and each one has 5-30MB full.

I will repeat myself again, none of this quotas was reached (maybe only 5%), but maillog get erro:
user qouta reached.

Investigate in 'admin > all > all domains > select one > mail accounts > select one > limit'.

Thank you for reply,
anyway that's not the problem.

It seems there is a bug.

Today this same problem occur again:
Jun  7 11:02:35 server send: delivery 85: failure: user_is_over_quota/
In kloxo settings there is no signal of use being in over quota, user use around 1200MB in total, and 16GB is configured as Total Disk Usage (MB).

How do I solve now problem?

Now I try to change approach, I changed from 16000 MB to 2000MB, and user_is_over_quota message in maillog disappear, and everything is fine :).

So, there is some bug in calculation of Total Disk Usage (MB), and to get rid of this messages in future, for this user I will everything turn on to UNLIMITED.

Just posting this for your info.
