Can't access mail
« on: 2015-10-30, 15:47:21 »
Hello, I have two servers, one has EHCP (easy hosting control panel) installed and it works fine, out of the box, but I don't like it for several reasons .
On my second server, I installed KloxoMR about four months ago, and I've never been able to use the server because I can't access emails. I am so tired of trying to set up records here and records there, and I wish someone could just tell me what to do and where.
If I go to webmail, I get a page 500 error message.
If I check my domain name with intodns.com it tells me the mx records reported at my server.
My mx records pass all the tests except one: MX name validity: The MX records that do not seem valid hostname:
mail.hostquota.space
But how on earth do I make them valid? Is this done on the server, or at my domain name registrar?
I've been putting in records all over the place and just get the same error. I'm totally lost now.
I would really love to be able to switch both my servers to KloxoMR, and all my future ones, but Kloxo and KloxoMR are the only control panels that I can never get working.
It's driven me to the point of mental exhaustion, 4 hours today trying to access mail. And how many hours over the past few months, when I've had the mental stamina to try again.
I don't understand how other control panels install out of the box, but Kloxo needs to be installed by someone who has a phd in servers.
Why does it have to be so complicated?
It looks like the perfect control panel, but god knows how you get it to work.
Tired now, going to sleeep.

Beside intodns.com. try use mxtoolbox.com too for testing mail issue.

I've just spent another few hours and I can't get anywhere with it. Apparently there's no reverse dns or something.....I simply don\t understand it.
I so much wanted to use kloxo, but I'm totally exhausted by it now. I'm going to install imscp instead, it works without all this hassle.
All i get with kloxo is a default page when I try to access email (no longer gives a 500 error page) and a big fat headache.
Sorry folks, I really believed in kloxo, even argued with those who tried to put it down. But in all honesty, it simply doesn't work. 4 months of trying to get it going. I'm really disappointed.
Honestly cannot go any further with it...it's worn me out.

For reverse-dns, ask to your provider for setup it for you.

For error 500, click update for 'admin > servers > localhost > php configure' and every customer/reseller.

Hi, thanks for reply and well done for keeping Kloxo alive. I have a medical problem which destroys my ability to focus for long, so sorry about my rant.
The problem is that I have reverse dns.
MXToolbox is showing 'Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner' and 'MAIL FROM:<supertool@mxtoolbox.com>
250 Refused. You have no reverse DNS entry. [719 ms]
RCPT TO:<test@example.com>
421 Refused. You have no reverse DNS entry. [719 ms]'

But shouldn't I at least get the email log in page? All I get now is the Kloxo default page. at
webmail.mydomain.com
It's as if there's no email client on the server.

Thanks for your offer of help, but I've now totally messed up my domain settings. One of the biggest problems is that kimsufi give no help at all in setting the domain to the server.
I have domain settings at crazy doains, I have domain settings at kimsufi, I have domain settings at Kloxo. So when mxtoolbox or intodns is telling me settings are wrong, what does it mean? Settings at kimsufi, settings at kloxo or settings at crazy domains? It's driven me to despair.
I'd been looking at an easy to run business, one which didn't require much attention from me, because I can't focus for long. But I've had this server 6 months or more and can't use it.
I can run ehcp or zpanel or imscp on it, but those panels are sorely lacking and would be more trouble than they're worth. Kloxo would be ideal, but it simply will not work on my server.
And now that I've messed up the domain settings, I can't even think to be able to reset them.
I've sent in a support ticket to Kimsufi (OVH) and asked them how to get my domain name to my server, and if they don't respond, I'll simply quit because for something that I thought would be easy, it's nearly destroyed my mind.
It takes Kimisufi up to two weeks to reply to a support ticket, so I'll either wait that long or give the server back.
If by any remote chance I still have it when they respond, I'll get back to you if I'm still having problems.
Thanks anyway.

I think something wrong for your dns setting. Did you read http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-set-dns/ and http://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-tips-and-tricks/(tip)-how-to-setup-qmail-on-kloxo-mr/ ?.

I've pm'd you my ssh and kloxo details, and have reset my domain name to the server.
I really appreciate if you can help with this, and will make sure you get a nice Christmass bonus!
