Cache Issue
« on: 2017-07-03, 11:44:53 »
Based on this: https://forum.mratwork.com/kloxo-mr-technical-helps/switch-from-haiwathaproxy-to-nginxproxy-break-wordpress/

It looks like I have some kind of cache issues. It's not caching properly. Is there a fixed to run getting cache working properly?

Set '-1' for microcache and static file cache in 'web features' for each domain.

Try set to '1' or '2' in microcache.

I have been having issue with one of the WordPress plugins. So I've asked the author if it's the issue with server caching and he replied.

Quote
caching is OK, it’s only the sending of the cached file that is not optimal (as not compressed)

What does that mean? I didn't have this issue before I updated Kloxo-MR a week or two ago.

So I got more info on this. It seem that the web server is not compressing css and js files. Is there any setting that I have to configure?

Cache module possible exists in web server, php and applications itself. If possible use cache module in applications level (like hypercache in wordpress).

Enable pagespeed (available in apache and nginx) for compressing. Hiawatha using different method for compressing.

Ok, so I was using WP Super Cache but after seeing your suggestion on Hypercache I tested 4 cache plugins and finally test W3 Total Cache. With W3 Total Cache there's a compatibility test. I click on it and here is what I see might be the problem all along.

Code: [Select]
mod_deflate: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_env: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_expires: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_filter: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_ext_filter: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_headers: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_mime: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_rewrite: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)
mod_setenvif: Not detected (required for disk enhanced Page Cache and Browser Cache)

How do I fixed this?

I think your wordpress plugins refer to apache 2.2 where you use apache 2.4. Example mod_env (in apache 2.2) as the same as env_module (in apache 2.4).

I see the other mods but not mod_deflate. So is deflate_mod work?

Is it possible to enable mod_deflate without enabling pagespeed?
