Title: OpenLiteSpeed ;)
Post by: Spacedust on 2013-10-01, 00:09:00
Might be a good alternative to old Apache: http://www.litespeedtech.com/latest/ann ... speed.html (http://www.litespeedtech.com/latest/announcing-the-release-of-openlitespeed.html)

nginxproxy + openlitespeed will be super fast ;)

It's not about who's the fastest. It's about open-source support open-source.

VERY interested in OpenLiteSpeed ---- it uses the same rewrite rules for clients that apache uses (.htaccess) --- it is a drop in replacement mustafa --- please add it as a server option for new release of KloxoMR - they went OPEN SOURCE!

Please try trafficserver in 6.5.1.a. At this moment, Kloxo-MR 6.5.1a using trafficserver 3.2.5 and now trafficserver 4.0.1 on the way.

With trafficserver, we able to make a business like CDN. Yes, trafficserver as front-end of website.

I am concerned with front end caching will be bad for shared hosting environment I am currently using KloxoMR for.

I am VERY interested in the specs from OpenLiteSpeed - especially since my clients can still use .htaccess files.

Please add it Mustafa - it shouldn't be that hard since it is a drop in replacement for apache.

THANK YOU

Pointless - my fault !

OpenLiteSpeed vs Litespeed Enterprise

Quote
First, let’s see main features missing from OpenLiteSpeed vs Litespeed Enterprise

    hosting control panel compatibility
   .htaccess file compatibility !!!
    mod_security compatibility
    page caching

I was using Varnish with 2 seconds cache and it was refreshing realtime on shared hosting ;)

If I am not wrong, openlitespeed also missing for 'reading' apache configs.

FYI, openlitespeed using their 'special' php (call as 'lsphp') with their lsapi. And no implementing yet for php-fpm.

Yeah, no point of adding it. Better work on Apache 2.4 ;)

Maybe the first multiple webserver only for nginx-hiawatha-apache. So, every website able to select nginx, hiawatha, apache, nginx-proxy or hiawatha.

Good decision when OLS doesn't have support for .htaccess files so not a replacement nor alternative to Apache in hosting env.

But if you get Hiawatha-proxy to support TLS site....
