mail not working (send or receive)

I make a fresh install on my VPS. first, everything was working fine but suddenly receiving and sending mail is stoped.  I was using my gmail account to send and receive emails but now it is not working too. When i checked gmail error report it writes connection refused. I can login with webmail but it is impossible to send or receive emails.
