Title: DNS Templates
Post by: LotsOfQ on 2017-07-04, 17:55:42
When editing the DNS templates, ex. 'cp' changed ip and click update. Then it somehow does this:

Code: [Select]
lists CN - mail.domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.
webmail CN - mail.domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.
www CN - domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.
imap FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
pop FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
smtp FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
__base__ MX 10 mail.domain.com.dnst..
__base__ NS - dns1.domain.com..
__base__ NS - dns2.domain.com..

It added the extra .domain.com.dnst.
Code: [Select]
lists CN - mail.domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.
webmail CN - mail.domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.
www CN - domain.com.dnst..domain.com.dnst.

And extra .
Code: [Select]

imap FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
pop FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
smtp FCNAME - mail.domain.com.dnst..
__base__ MX 10 mail.domain.com.dnst..
__base__ NS - dns1.domain.com..
__base__ NS - dns2.domain.com..

Another thing, it only does this to the more recent added domains. I find my older domains, really much older doesn't do this. Those are fine. Maybe it's not the domain but the old dns templates.

EDIT: Ignore this comment. It happened on a few old domains/dns templates too. So I don't know why it's like that on some and not others.

Don't add '.' (dot) at the end of domain name or dnst.

I didn't add that '.' (dot). It was automatically added. I go to admin > DNS Templates.

DNS Template Name: mydomain.com
selected ip for Web Ipaddress
selected ip for Mail Ipaddress
Primary DNS: ns1.mydomain.com
Secondary DNS: ns2.mydomain.com

Everything was fine. Then when I edited any part of the DNS Templates that was just created. For example, cp: I changed the ip then click update. And it add all those extra stuff on it's own.

I'm not sure what you mean. The example above is how one of the templates look like.

Next without doing any editing or anything at all. I just simply clicked 'DNS Templates' to go back to DNS templates. Then I clicked on created template (exampletemplate.com.dnst) again to check it. And that when I see this.

Screenshot #4
It automatically added all of those on its own.

Should I run 'sh /script/upcp'? Will it fixed this issue and the 'www a record' issues?

No. Update every entry for mx, ns and fcname for dns template where remove '.' (dot) in the end of text (example: change 'abc.com.' to 'abc.com') and change entry for cn to '__base__'.
