after cleanup mail stops working

After the past few cleanups (7.0b) email has stopped working and I have had to run fixmail-all and then restart-mail in order to get it running properly.

There is no errors when restarting qmail on cleanup.  But mail client can not log in, incorrect user or password.

Aftet fixmail-all, restart-mail, email client can connect properly.

You have changed something in cleanup?

Only related to fix how repair vpopmail password if not match.

Somethimg is wrong.  I just tried again.  Cleanup somehow makes passwords/users not match my email client.  It fails to login until i run fixmail-all and restart-mail

No, cleanup not change mailaccount password and only change vpopmail password (must be match with mysql root password).

I don't know WHAT you have changed, but since then EVERY TIME I RUN CLEANUP I must run fixmail-all, restart-mail.

You have to restart qmail with:

qmailctl stop
qmailctl start

to make mail working again or you will see wrong password message when trying to login to any mailbox - /etc/init.d/qmail restart is not the same !!!

I'm not sure what /script/restart-mail uses.  My concern is this problem just started happening in last few weeks, so something in cleanup, or restart, or something is causing my email client to answer with the 'incorrect username or password'.

Will try to just use qmailctl without fixmail, see if that works.

It seems it uses qmailctl stop; killall -9 qmail-send; qmailctl start - so that's ok !
