Title: [BUG - IMPORTANT] script/fixtraffic and scavenge!
Post by: chrisf on 2014-06-30, 02:21:45
on the 20th I removed all cron jobs for fixtraffic and scavenge.  I did this on 4 servers, production, and 1 test server.  The results ARE THE SAME ACROSS all the servers, scavenge does not update stats correctly, nor is bandwidth being tracked properly.

Screenshot shows what happened when rely on scavenge alone.  Scavenge email shows that scavenge DOES NOT RUN at the scheduled time.  It seems the logs are not available, why are you log rotating these?

This is a serious problem.  I have brought it to your attention numerous times.  Multiple php is worthless without customer stat tracking, restrictions, etc.

I looked into scavenge routines!  What a mess!

Fixtraffic still does not properly keep track of its last run.  It will just keep adding bandwidth on.

This is something you should investigate and fix, OR rewrite it completely.  IT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY!

Just set /script/scavenge in cron each day and all will work perfectly ;)

So this would make me believe that this is a permission problem with scavenge?  If it will run properly and update under root, then possibly running webalizer without root is a problem?

Also, logrotate is changing these logs?  Mustafa please explain.
