Before concluding whether Skyscanner is safe, we first need to know what a sky scanner is. Sky scanner is a search tool for finding amazing deals on airplane ticket booking. It is not a website where you can book a flight ticket. It is a tool that will search hundreds of websites to provide you with the best options. Skyscanner started in 2002 as one of the most inclusive metasearch engines for airfare.

What should you keep in mind while using Skyscanner?

Skyscanner is a search aggregator that primarily focuses on finding the cheapest flight ticket. They search from vast third-party Online Booking Agents(OBA's) and will refer you to the cheapest one. However, they don't use reliability as a factor of agents' ranking.

The Online Booking Agents are ranked with the star system, similar to other platforms.

You need to check their ranking and feedback before booking any flight with them.

You must have heard of many Online Booking Agents, like Travelocity, Expedia, etc., but there are many from which you are unfamiliar- Hop2, Viana, JustFly, etc.; that doesn't mean that they are not safe to use.

You can search for specific Online Booking Agents to learn about their service. You can search "Viana reviews" on the google browser and get the reviews on search results. Explore the reviews thoroughly before booking your flight

The biggest issue with booking from a third party is that you will not get a notification regarding your flight cancellation.

There will be a communication gap between you and the Online Booking Agents regarding tickets and flight cancellation. So you need to research the Online Booking Agents regarding their customer service before booking the flight through them.

Conclusion-

If you are still wondering, Is it safe to book flights through Skyscanner? Then Skyscanner is safe in terms of flight bookings, but you must also do your homework before booking any flight ticket from the Online Booking Agents. You can read the reviews posted by other users through a simple internet search. Also, it provides a hotel booking option to use the Skyscanner for your holiday booking.
