Yes, American Airlines allows cancellations (https://jciodev.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/general-discussion/e150caaa-0f03-ef11-a81c-00224800ef9f). Tickets are fully refundable within 24 hours of booking, provided the departure date is more than two days ahead. Nonrefundable tickets can be changed or cancelled without a fee, but you'll receive a travel credit instead of a refund.
